A note to myself, and to you,

I've never taken a phone apart, and I don't plan to. I just keep wondering about the things I use every day — why a battery would rather sit between 20% and 80%, or how TVs got cheaper and better at the same time. The questions come back every few months and go unanswered.

So I'm answering them here, one per post: what I wondered, what I found, and what surprised me. Mostly for me. For you too, if you've wondered the same.
